Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ChurchConnect ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, churches, and ministry partners.

2. Description of Service

ChurchConnect is an online directory and marketplace that connects churches with vetted ministry service providers (worship leaders, sound technicians, children's ministry workers, and other ministry professionals). We facilitate discovery and communication but are not a party to any agreement between churches and partners.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use most features of the Platform. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to update it as necessary. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

4. Partner Listings

Ministry partners who create profiles on ChurchConnect represent that all information provided is accurate, current, and not misleading. ChurchConnect reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is inappropriate for the Platform. Partners are solely responsible for the services they provide to churches.

5. Church Responsibilities

Churches using ChurchConnect are responsible for independently evaluating ministry partners before hiring them, including verifying credentials, references, and conducting any due diligence they deem appropriate. ChurchConnect does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services provided by any ministry partner listed on the Platform.

6. Fees and Payments

ChurchConnect may charge subscription fees or transaction fees as described on our Pricing page. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers (Stripe). By using payment features, you also agree to the applicable third-party terms of service.

6b. Booking & Escrow Payments

When a church books a ministry partner through the Platform, payment is collected upfront and held in escrow by ChurchConnect. Funds are released to the partner only after the church confirms the service has been completed. ChurchConnect charges a platform fee of 8% for free accounts and 3% for annual Pro accounts on each booking transaction.

• Refunds: If a booking is cancelled before the service is performed, the church may request a refund by contacting helpcc@churchxconnect.com within 48 hours of the cancellation.
• Disputes: If a church and partner have a dispute about service completion, ChurchConnect may, at its discretion, mediate the dispute but is not obligated to do so. ChurchConnect's decision in any dispute is final.
• Partner payouts: Partners must connect a valid bank account via Stripe Express to receive payouts. Payouts are typically deposited 2–3 business days after funds are released.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to: (a) post false or misleading information; (b) harass or harm other users; (c) use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; (d) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform; (e) reproduce or redistribute Platform content without permission; or (f) use automated tools to scrape or interact with the Platform without our written consent.

8. Intellectual Property

The ChurchConnect name, logo, and Platform content are owned by ChurchConnect and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Users retain ownership of content they upload to the Platform but grant ChurchConnect a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content in connection with the Platform's operation.

9. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. ChurchConnect does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChurchConnect disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChurchConnect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform or from any services obtained through the Platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Termination does not relieve you of obligations incurred prior to termination.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
